Tank’s illness update…

Most of you know our bulldog Tank has been so poorly this week, it’s been awful to see him with eyes closed and sleepy with no appetite.

We originally thought he had conjunctivitis, but on a visit to the Vet they sent us as an emergency to Davies Vetinary Specialist with suspected glaucoma! 😱

We were there for about 4 hours and Tank had two examinations by an Opthomologist and had blood test

She diagnosed Uveitis- inflammation of the eye

We came home with eye drops and pain killer and anti inflammatory medication

On Sunday the Vet phoned and asked if we could take him back in as he had been administered a double dose of the inflammatory medicine, he had to stay in to have anti acid and check his liver was ok, and was given morphine.

When I collected him Monday he was like a different boy, very dosey and quiet which was a bit of a worry, but due to the drugs he’d been given

He wouldn’t eat for two days, and slept constantly, I managed to get food down him Tuesday night, but then Wednesday he developed projectile diarrhoea and sickness, but seemed a lot better with his eyes.

He went back to the vets Thursday for a check up and it was quite positive, he has Uveitis caused by possibly a bacteria and his eyes have responded to the treatment so they have now given him a steroid and antibiotics eye paste and tablets to help with his diarrhoea

I think he looks so much better!

I took this photo this morning on a quick walk and he was acting like his normal crazy self (apart from the projectile poo!)

We want to say a big thank you to all our friends, and customers for your kind words and wishes of wellness for Tank
